[1] Patrem Claudi Caesaris Drusum, olim Decimum mox Neronem praenomine, Livia, cum Augusto gravida nupsisset, intra mensem tertium peperit,
[Livia, after she had married Augustus during her pregnancy, gave birth in her third trimester to Claudius Caesar's father, Drusus, whose first name was Decimus Nero,]
fuitque suspicio ex vitrico per adulterii consuetudinem procreatum.
[and it became a subject of suspicion that he had been fathered by his stepfather, out of his lusty habits.]
