Dicit se vetulam, cum sit Caerellia pupa:
(She calls herself an old woman, although Caerellia is a young girl:)

pupam se dicit Gellia, cum si anus.
(Gellia calls herself a young girl, although she’s an old maid;)

ferre nec hanc possis, possis, Colline, nec illam:
(May you not tolerate this one, Collinus, nor bear that one:)

altera ridicula est, altera putidula.
(One is ridiculous, the other something nasty.)
