Owen, Poem: Ship

John Owen (Iohannes Audoenus)
1564-1622 AD
Trans RMBullard
Latin [Modern Era]

Puppis cauda, carinaque venter, proraque rostrum;

[The poop's its tail, and the keel, its stomach, and the prow, its beak;]

     velaque sunt alae, totaque navis avis.

[and the sails, its wing, and entire ship, a bird.]
